tattoos are addictive!

I’ve given a great deal of thought to getting another tattoo. Now, for those of you who don’t know me, I used to say that I was only going to get one tattoo. When I was younger I got a tattoo on my left shoulder of a shaman. Ever since then I've wanted another one. I ended up putting flames around the shaman. It looks like the figure is dancing in the fire. I thought be adding the fire I hadn't actually broken my oath to only have one tattoo. For a while I considered adding a tattoo of the earth behind the fire so that it looked like the world was on fire. Then the reality of the size the earth would have to be, to be recognizable, set in and I decided against doing that. Now I’m back to the point where I still want a tattoo. If my mother is reading this her mouth is wide open and she’s saying, “NO!” but come on Mom, get over it.

Anyway the whole point is to get your input. Please help me decide which tat I should get and where I should get the it. I especially like the "tribal" type tats. The one above is the symbol for Gemini, which is appropriate. I also like the idea of something Celtic in nature.

As for location, I want it to be seen, but not all of the time. My foot maybe? Or my ankle? The nape of my neck? Any other suggestions? Some of the ideas I have are probably out of my budget, but they are so cool! Please look at the ideas below and let me know what you think. You can pause the slide show and read the label by moving your mouse over it. Remember I need an idea of where to get it and which one you like. Thanks for you input!

I like the top one - it reminds me of a rune! Put it on your ankle! Wear it proud!

I like the Celtic symbol for mother. I thought it was cool even before I knew what it meant, now I like it even more!

I liked the mother one as well. I'm weird about flash art and other people's designs. I don't want something that anyone else has, so I always design my own. My next one is coming right on along in my head. Of course around August would be as soon as I could get another one.

I responded on your facebook wall, you goofball. I can't believe you're going to do this...hmmm. If you were closer, you'd probably talk me into one.

Inner ankle for locale.

I expect updates :-D

12 Celctic Symbol for Mother is good.
14 eye of the horus - looks too Egyptian...remember you asked and I am opinionated. *coughs*.
No crosses, or moons, again IMHO. I like the way 19 celtic bird tattoo was done with the birds and the tribal-y swirl in the back...the birds are just awwwrrriiiiite. But I like the depth of the piece.
I said no ... Read Morecrosses?? I meant the traditional ones, I like no. 4.

Hi there,
I am Sophie's friend and saw your comment on FB about the tat and thought I would offer an opinion.

I looked at your choices and you have a few good ones. While I am deathly afraid of needles, I like a nice tat when I see one and my hubby has 3. A friend of ours just got a nice dragon fly on the nape of her neck under her hair! It looks cool.

So your choices, 1.) I really like the tat on the belly (your number 6), so if you have a nice tummy and like showing it off that would be awesome choice (tat and locale...awesome)
2. I think your choice #8 is cool and would be neat at the nape of your neck or even the foot...
3. as a a mother myself I like the symbol of motherhood, your choice #12...not sure of a placement point for that one.

Hope that helps....my choice for placement is the neck or foot...

let us know....

I like the Gemini symbol and Celtic circle. As far as location, I always like the ankle...inside and outside. I got a one on the back of my hip and wish I hadn't because I can't see it. I want to enjoy them too! I also like tattoos on the wrist. The Gemini symbol would look nice on the inside of your wrist. great now you've got me thinking about another tattoo!!

Ok so I like # 8 celitcknot 2 and #16 on the foot... Have you decided or narrowed any down yet? See you at 7 tomorrow!

Celtic knots, to me, are really great for necklaces, but too busy for tats. B/c what I do is to sit there and try to figure out where the line goes. So, I don't want to stare at someone's tat, esp. if it's right above their butt crack.

I like the mother one-- real simple,-- and the triangle one that's third down on your blog.

Locale-- ankle, wrist, nape of neck -- anywhere but right above your butt crack. Tina

My choices would be # 8 celitcknot 2,14 eye of the horus, or 12 Celctic Symbol for Mother. If I was brave enough to get one, I always thought I'd get it on my foot. I like the idea too of nape of the neck under the hair. Let me know which one you decide.

I think the Gemini sign would look great as an outside ankle tat. It's a great place for it to be seen but you can cover it if you want to. I have my inside ankle tattoo of a teddy bear. I like where it is because it's not screaming at anyone. That's just my opinion. Let me know what you decide

I like the Genini sign and the one on the wrist in the pictures. I like them because they are elgantly beautiful. The size of the lines are more appealing to me (very flowy, I know that is not a word), the celtic ones are nice but a little heavy. I, of course, recommend the ankle. I love mine on the ankle, never have regretted getting mine there.

"Cool--Personally, I like the eye of horus and the celtic mother (sounds just like you!) and the one on the foot--and you know I like the foot/toes for location, but ultimately it is your body--need to make sure it is something you will love forever--but you already know that!--I personally do not care for some of the thicker tribal tats--look too masculine for my taste. Let me know what you decide!"
