
Have any of you seen the Paul McKenna show on TLC, I Can Make You Thin? If you're not familiar with it go here and take a look. I watched the show last Sunday, this was the introduction to his method of weight loss. He said that you can eat whatever you want. Now as a fat chick, I have to admit that this peaked my interest. Then he said that there are 4 golden rules to weight loss. First; eat when you're hungry, secondly; eat what you want, third; eat consciously and finally; stop when you are full.
I decided I give this a try. I have to admit up front that I didn't follow the rules all the time. Some of the time I forgot, other times I blatantly ignored the rules, but there were a number of times that I did eat consciously. Eating consciously means taking a bite of food, laying down your fork and slowly chewing without distractions.
I'm going to tell you that I have never eaten consciously that I can remember. I'm either eating while watching TV, driving or reading a magazine. I'm usually in a hurry, starving to death or trying to relax and comfort myself with food.
Now last night Mr. McKenna talked about overcoming emotional eating. Hello, I wrote the book on emotional eating. He gave a technique that you can use to deal with the uncomfortable feelings instead of eating to comfort yourself. If you go here, register, and log in you can learn the technique too.

I'm game! I watched some of it last night, but K was in the same room, and I felt like, maybe he thought the dude was a quack, but it's free TV, at least give it a try!!!!

Oh gosh- I have a problem with :"eat only when you are physically hungry". I eat for any reason!

I saw this last night too! I'm wondering whether this can really work, but am willing to give it a try too. We'll see.
By the way, is that you in the picture?? If so, I don't see 'fat chick' as you say, I see beautiful!
