Who put the T in temptation?

The sermon this morning was about temptation. I especially like the children's sermon because Barb brought chocolate and said that that was a real temptation for her. Having given up all fried food and by not eating beef, pork or chicken on Fridays I have been so temped to just give in. It's not just french fries, it's potato chips, tacos, fried catfish. Oh the temptation is strong.

Brother Russell used examples of Moses, Lott's wife, Eve in the garden of Eden, Samson and King David. They were all tempted and took the temptation. Jesus, is the only one who did not take the temptation.
I think we are all temped in many different ways. Yesterday at work (I work part-time at a home decor store) there was this black and white photo, that I had wanted, but it was a bit too pricey. Well, it was green tagged on clearance and since Tuesday clearance had been an additional 40% off. I finally broke down and put it on hold so I could buy it after I got off work. Well, long story not short. This woman saw it behind the counter and wanted to buy it. The manager, who had just gotten back from lunch, sold her one with out going to the back and getting it for her. When she went to the back, and there weren't any more so she had to refund the lady. A bit later the woman's husband came in the store to complain and said that she should sell him the one behind the counter (my picture). The manager apologize again and said that that one was being help for an employee. He said the customer comes first and was very angry. She offered to call several other stores for him to see if any of them still had a copy of the print. Unfortunately, no one had a copy. Later the man called back and requested the home office's number so that he could file a complaint.
Now I realize that I probably should have allowed him to buy the print, but to be perfectly honest I wanted the print and I'm tired of always being the good one who does as she's ask and I said no. Secondly, I think the manager should of looked in the back before she sold it to the woman. Thirdly, I don't think the manager should have told the guy is was an employee's hold.

Over all, yesterday was just one of those days that everything just didn't go quite right. I guess karma was after my butt because my debit card wouldn't work and two different places. Not that I was refused, it just could not be 'read'. Then when I left work, the radio in my truck didn't work, it was completely black. It's fine now which means there probably just a short, but I was feeling like Earl.
I do feel guilty for not letting the guy buy the picture, but I'm even more ticked that he acted like a spoiled brat. I also feel like I allowed temptation to influence me. I don't want to over think the whole situation, but I don't want to be refused by God for failing temptation either.

Oh, that's a tough one. But you're right that the manager should have checked for another before selling it! It's a beautiful picture.

Gotta wonder if that couple is the kind of people who would get in a knock-down, drag-out fight over the popular toy at Christmas season. (OK, now I'm being unfair.)

Sorry I've been out of touch. I guess we've had a lot of extra-curricular things going on since the beginning of the year. I'll try to do better!

That guy sounds like a jerk. People who feel like they're entitled get on my last nerve. That we don't always get what we want is part of living.

Hang in there...karma will move on to someone else. Enjoy your picture!
